Australian residents: building a Switzerland Passport the right way
Scope lock: this URL is for Switzerland Passport travel-document photos only — licence and national-ID copy live on their own pages.
From Australia, applicants often need a Switzerland Passport for travel document renewals filed online or through a US mission. An Australian Passport Office crop will not satisfy Switzerland reviewers if the millimetre size differs.
This article is scoped to Switzerland Passport as a Switzerland travel / passport photo (35 × 45 mm, Light grey). Driving-licence and national-ID wording is not pasted here.
The Australian Passport Office teaches a 35 × 45 mm habit. Switzerland Passport breaks that habit on purpose: target 35 × 45 mm and Light grey every time.
German-speaking passport standards commonly use 35 × 45 mm with a light background. Switzerland Passport on this page instead targets 35 × 45 mm and Light grey — do not assume an EU booth print is interchangeable.
From Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or regional AU: shoot a clean selfie indoors, lock Switzerland Passport in the selector, upload, and keep the export for Switzerland online renewal or a Switzerland mission appointment in Australia.
Passport Office size ≠ Switzerland Passport size
Do not “letterbox” an AU 35 × 45 mm file into another shape — automated Switzerland passport checks still see wrong head ratios.
Cream or pale-grey AU studio papers can also fail Switzerland Passport if the portal expects pure Light grey.
Timezone & filing tips for AU applicants of Switzerland Passport
Generate the passport photo the same week you submit; Switzerland portals dislike outdated likeness more than travellers expect.
If you print locally in Australia, ask for an exact 35 × 45 mm cut — not “passport photo” as a generic shop code.
Switzerland passport photo — what people search
This page is scoped to Switzerland Passport only: 35 × 45 mm on a Light grey background. Licence or national-ID crops belong on their own document pages.
Queries such as “Switzerland passport photo size” and “biometric passport photo” should land here — not on a driving-licence tool with a coincidentally similar millimetre size.
35×45 biometric (passport only)
“35x45 passport photo” searches belong on Switzerland Passport (35 × 45 mm, Light grey) — not on the licence page.
Switzerland passport note
Swiss passport photos commonly use 35 × 45 mm-class framing when that matches 35 × 45 mm; this page still binds Switzerland Passport.
Australia → Switzerland passport acceptance gate
- Document = Switzerland Passport (Switzerland law)
- Size 35 × 45 mm (not AU 35 × 45 mm)
- Background Light grey
- No reused Australian Passport Office JPEG
- Even daylight; no beach-glare selfies
- Market shows Australia, rules stay Switzerland
AU market branding on FotoPass only localises chrome — Switzerland Passport still ships Switzerland millimetres.
