German-speaking driving licence standards commonly use 35 × 45 mm with a light background. Germany Driving licence on this page instead targets 35 × 45 mm and White — do not assume an EU booth print is interchangeable.
Home-market tip: New Zealand passport photos are commonly about 35 × 45 mm. Germany Driving licence instead demands 35 × 45 mm — different aspect ratio, not a simple resize.
From New Zealand: selfie → Germany Driving licence selected → upload → send the export to the Germany licence portal or counter — not a recycled travel JPEG.
Why New Zealand prints fail Germany licence desks
A 35 × 45 mm New Zealand travel print does not become a legal 35 × 45 mm licence photo by trimming one edge.
Licence desks also reject glasses glare and outdated likeness more aggressively than some passport counters.
Licence portal notes from New Zealand
Upload the newest Germany Driving licence file for the Germany transport authority — keep the selector off passport products.
Apply portal compression only after the licence crop is correct.
Stay on the licence product (Germany Driving licence)
Switching to a New Zealand passport mid-flow silently changes millimetres. H1 and selector must remain Germany Driving licence.
