Germany Driving licence from South Africa: licence / DMV crop only
Scope lock: Germany Driving licence is a driving-licence / DMV-style product. Passport or green-card essays are not reused on this URL.
Living in South Africa does not change the Germany photo standard for Germany Driving licence. Use this page when the application names Germany sizes, not a local ICA or Home Affairs crop.
This article is scoped to Germany Driving licence as a Germany driving-licence / DMV-style photo (35 × 45 mm, White). Passport, green-card and visa essays stay on their own URLs.
Cross-border licence work: UI market South Africa, photo law Germany for Germany Driving licence. Passport essays are not reused here.
German-speaking driving licence standards commonly use 35 × 45 mm with a light background. Germany Driving licence on this page instead targets 35 × 45 mm and White — do not assume an EU booth print is interchangeable.
Home-market tip: South Africa passport photos are commonly about 35 × 45 mm. Germany Driving licence instead demands 35 × 45 mm — different aspect ratio, not a simple resize.
From South Africa: selfie → Germany Driving licence selected → upload → send the export to the Germany licence portal or counter — not a recycled travel JPEG.
Why South Africa prints fail Germany licence desks
A 35 × 45 mm South Africa travel print does not become a legal 35 × 45 mm licence photo by trimming one edge.
Licence desks also reject glasses glare and outdated likeness more aggressively than some passport counters.
Licence portal notes from South Africa
Upload the newest Germany Driving licence file for the Germany transport authority — keep the selector off passport products.
Apply portal compression only after the licence crop is correct.
Stay on the licence product (Germany Driving licence)
Switching to a South Africa passport mid-flow silently changes millimetres. H1 and selector must remain Germany Driving licence.
