Australia Passport from New Zealand: travel-document crop only
Scope lock: this URL is for Australia Passport travel-document photos only — licence and national-ID copy live on their own pages.
Preparing a Australia Passport from New Zealand? Keep the document selector on this US/foreign standard — local NZ passport guidance is a separate checklist.
This article is scoped to Australia Passport as a Australia travel / passport photo (35 × 45 mm, Light grey). Driving-licence and national-ID wording is not pasted here.
Cross-border passport work: your UI market is New Zealand, but the photo law is Australia for Australia Passport. Local booth habits do not travel.
Australian passport guidance centres on 35 × 45 mm. If you selected Australia Passport, ignore that local default and keep 35 × 45 mm with Light grey.
Home-market tip: New Zealand passport photos are commonly about 35 × 45 mm. Australia Passport instead demands 35 × 45 mm — different aspect ratio, not a simple resize.
From New Zealand: unfiltered selfie → lock Australia Passport → upload → use the export for Australia passport portals or embassy packets — never a recycled licence file.
Why New Zealand booth prints fail Australia passport checks
A 35 × 45 mm New Zealand print is not a legal 35 × 45 mm passport crop. Phone edge-trims break head ratios that border systems measure.
Cream or grey New Zealand studio paper can also fail when Australia Passport requires Light grey.
Embassy / online passport filing from New Zealand
Submit the newest Australia Passport export — not last year’s holiday portrait — whether you file online or attend a Australia mission serving New Zealand.
Compress for portal KB limits only after the biometric passport crop is set.
Do not switch away from Australia Passport
Market chrome may say New Zealand, but the selector must stay on this passport product. Changing to a local licence silently changes millimetres.
Australia passport photo — what people search
This page is scoped to Australia Passport only: 35 × 45 mm on a Light grey background. Licence or national-ID crops belong on their own document pages.
Queries such as “Australia passport photo size” and “biometric passport photo” should land here — not on a driving-licence tool with a coincidentally similar millimetre size.
Australia passport note
Australian Passport Office habits centre on 35 × 45 mm. Australia Passport on this page is 35 × 45 mm / Light grey — do not assume a chemist “passport” SKU matches without checking.
