Australia Passport from United States: travel-document crop only
Scope lock: this URL is for Australia Passport travel-document photos only — licence and national-ID copy live on their own pages.
Even when your FotoPass market shows United States, a Australia Passport must still meet Australia photo law for that document — local domestic sizes are a different product.
This article is scoped to Australia Passport as a Australia travel / passport photo (35 × 45 mm, Light grey). Driving-licence and national-ID wording is not pasted here.
Cross-border passport work: your UI market is United States, but the photo law is Australia for Australia Passport. Local booth habits do not travel.
Australian passport guidance centres on 35 × 45 mm. If you selected Australia Passport, ignore that local default and keep 35 × 45 mm with Light grey.
Home-market tip: United States passport photos are commonly about 51 × 51 mm (2 × 2 in). Australia Passport instead demands 35 × 45 mm — different aspect ratio, not a simple resize.
From United States: unfiltered selfie → lock Australia Passport → upload → use the export for Australia passport portals or embassy packets — never a recycled licence file.
Why United States booth prints fail Australia passport checks
A 51 × 51 mm (2 × 2 in) United States print is not a legal 35 × 45 mm passport crop. Phone edge-trims break head ratios that border systems measure.
Cream or grey United States studio paper can also fail when Australia Passport requires Light grey.
Embassy / online passport filing from United States
Submit the newest Australia Passport export — not last year’s holiday portrait — whether you file online or attend a Australia mission serving United States.
Compress for portal KB limits only after the biometric passport crop is set.
Do not switch away from Australia Passport
Market chrome may say United States, but the selector must stay on this passport product. Changing to a local licence silently changes millimetres.
Australia passport photo — what people search
This page is scoped to Australia Passport only: 35 × 45 mm on a Light grey background. Licence or national-ID crops belong on their own document pages.
Queries such as “Australia passport photo size” and “biometric passport photo” should land here — not on a driving-licence tool with a coincidentally similar millimetre size.
Australia passport note
Australian Passport Office habits centre on 35 × 45 mm. Australia Passport on this page is 35 × 45 mm / Light grey — do not assume a chemist “passport” SKU matches without checking.
