Canadian dual citizens & travellers: New Zealand Passport sizes
Scope lock: this URL is for New Zealand Passport travel-document photos only — licence and national-ID copy live on their own pages.
In Canada, US new zealand passport requests are common for dual citizens and frequent travellers. Canadian passport dimensions (often taller prints) are a frequent mix-up with New Zealand square or ratio crops.
This article is scoped to New Zealand Passport as a New Zealand travel / passport photo (35 × 45 mm, Light grey). Driving-licence and national-ID wording is not pasted here.
Canada’s common 50 × 70 mm passport strip is taller than New Zealand Passport at 35 × 45 mm. Dual citizens who recycle the Canadian print into a New Zealand form get predictable rejections.
Official framing for New Zealand Passport on FotoPass is 35 × 45 mm with a Light grey background. Treat any other country’s booth print as a different template.
From any province: selfie → New Zealand Passport selected → upload on this page → use the export for New Zealand online tools or a New Zealand appointment while living in Canada.
50 × 70 mm Canada vs New Zealand Passport
Do not trim a Canadian strip into another shape in Preview/Photos — head-size percentages break. Regenerate with New Zealand Passport so 35 × 45 mm is authored correctly.
Background must read Light grey for this passport document even if your Canadian studio used a cooler grey.
Cross-border filing habits for New Zealand Passport
Keep separate folders: “CA passport” vs “New Zealand Passport”. Mixing filenames is how the wrong JPEG gets uploaded at midnight.
