Germany Passport from South Africa: travel-document crop only
Scope lock: this URL is for Germany Passport travel-document photos only — licence and national-ID copy live on their own pages.
Living in South Africa does not change the Germany photo standard for Germany Passport. Use this page when the application names Germany sizes, not a local ICA or Home Affairs crop.
This article is scoped to Germany Passport as a Germany travel / passport photo (35 × 45 mm, Light grey). Driving-licence and national-ID wording is not pasted here.
Cross-border passport work: your UI market is South Africa, but the photo law is Germany for Germany Passport. Local booth habits do not travel.
German-speaking passport standards commonly use 35 × 45 mm with a light background. Germany Passport on this page instead targets 35 × 45 mm and Light grey — do not assume an EU booth print is interchangeable.
Home-market tip: South Africa passport photos are commonly about 35 × 45 mm. Germany Passport instead demands 35 × 45 mm — different aspect ratio, not a simple resize.
From South Africa: unfiltered selfie → lock Germany Passport → upload → use the export for Germany passport portals or embassy packets — never a recycled licence file.
Why South Africa booth prints fail Germany passport checks
A 35 × 45 mm South Africa print is not a legal 35 × 45 mm passport crop. Phone edge-trims break head ratios that border systems measure.
Cream or grey South Africa studio paper can also fail when Germany Passport requires Light grey.
Embassy / online passport filing from South Africa
Submit the newest Germany Passport export — not last year’s holiday portrait — whether you file online or attend a Germany mission serving South Africa.
Compress for portal KB limits only after the biometric passport crop is set.
Do not switch away from Germany Passport
Market chrome may say South Africa, but the selector must stay on this passport product. Changing to a local licence silently changes millimetres.
Germany passport photo — what people search
This page is scoped to Germany Passport only: 35 × 45 mm on a Light grey background. Licence or national-ID crops belong on their own document pages.
Queries such as “Germany passport photo size” and “biometric passport photo” should land here — not on a driving-licence tool with a coincidentally similar millimetre size.
35×45 biometric (passport only)
“35x45 passport photo” searches belong on Germany Passport (35 × 45 mm, Light grey) — not on the licence page.
