United Kingdom Passport from New Zealand: travel-document crop only
Scope lock: this URL is for United Kingdom Passport travel-document photos only — licence and national-ID copy live on their own pages.
Preparing a United Kingdom Passport from New Zealand? Keep the document selector on this US/foreign standard — local NZ passport guidance is a separate checklist.
This article is scoped to United Kingdom Passport as a United Kingdom travel / passport photo (35 × 45 mm, Light grey). Driving-licence and national-ID wording is not pasted here.
Cross-border passport work: your UI market is New Zealand, but the photo law is United Kingdom for United Kingdom Passport. Local booth habits do not travel.
United Kingdom passport photos are usually a 35 × 45 mm portrait with strict head-height bands. That is a different geometry from square US prints — never stretch a UK booth file to fake 35 × 45 mm.
Home-market tip: New Zealand passport photos are commonly about 35 × 45 mm. United Kingdom Passport instead demands 35 × 45 mm — different aspect ratio, not a simple resize.
From New Zealand: unfiltered selfie → lock United Kingdom Passport → upload → use the export for United Kingdom passport portals or embassy packets — never a recycled licence file.
Why New Zealand booth prints fail United Kingdom passport checks
A 35 × 45 mm New Zealand print is not a legal 35 × 45 mm passport crop. Phone edge-trims break head ratios that border systems measure.
Cream or grey New Zealand studio paper can also fail when United Kingdom Passport requires Light grey.
Embassy / online passport filing from New Zealand
Submit the newest United Kingdom Passport export — not last year’s holiday portrait — whether you file online or attend a United Kingdom mission serving New Zealand.
Compress for portal KB limits only after the biometric passport crop is set.
Do not switch away from United Kingdom Passport
Market chrome may say New Zealand, but the selector must stay on this passport product. Changing to a local licence silently changes millimetres.
United Kingdom passport photo — what people search
This page is scoped to United Kingdom Passport only: 35 × 45 mm on a Light grey background. Licence or national-ID crops belong on their own document pages.
Queries such as “United Kingdom passport photo size” and “biometric passport photo” should land here — not on a driving-licence tool with a coincidentally similar millimetre size.
GOV.UK digital code (UK passport only)
Digital photo code / HMPO searches belong on United Kingdom Passport (35 × 45 mm, Light grey) — not on the UK driving-licence page.
