United States Passport from Ireland: travel-document crop only
Scope lock: this URL is for United States Passport travel-document photos only — licence and national-ID copy live on their own pages.
In Ireland, treat this page as a United States-only tool for United States Passport. Irish passport booth sizes are not a substitute when the form explicitly asks for United States measurements.
This article is scoped to United States Passport as a United States travel / passport photo (2 × 2 in, White). Driving-licence and national-ID wording is not pasted here.
Cross-border passport work: your UI market is Ireland, but the photo law is United States for United States Passport. Local booth habits do not travel.
For most United States passport photos the canonical print is a square 2 × 2 inch frame on a plain white background. Eyes open, mouth closed, and no typical eyeglass glare are recurring rejection themes. This page locks United States Passport to 2 × 2 in / White.
Home-market tip: Ireland passport photos are commonly about 35 × 45 mm. United States Passport instead demands 2 × 2 in — different aspect ratio, not a simple resize.
From Ireland: unfiltered selfie → lock United States Passport → upload → use the export for United States passport portals or embassy packets — never a recycled licence file.
Why Ireland booth prints fail United States passport checks
A 35 × 45 mm Ireland print is not a legal 2 × 2 in passport crop. Phone edge-trims break head ratios that border systems measure.
Cream or grey Ireland studio paper can also fail when United States Passport requires White.
Embassy / online passport filing from Ireland
Submit the newest United States Passport export — not last year’s holiday portrait — whether you file online or attend a United States mission serving Ireland.
Compress for portal KB limits only after the biometric passport crop is set.
Do not switch away from United States Passport
Market chrome may say Ireland, but the selector must stay on this passport product. Changing to a local licence silently changes millimetres.
United States passport photo — what people search
This page is scoped to United States Passport only: 2 × 2 in on a White background. Licence or national-ID crops belong on their own document pages.
Queries such as “United States passport photo size” and “biometric passport photo” should land here — not on a driving-licence tool with a coincidentally similar millimetre size.
Green card & USCIS (passport page only)
High-volume green card photo / USCIS 2x2 searches share the 2 × 2 in family with United States Passport (White background).
Same print size ≠ same filing. Export a fresh file per application. DV lottery photos are a separate product — not this passport tool.
DS-160 vs passport renewal uploads
Both often want 2×2, but portals add different kilobyte caps. Author United States Passport first, then compress.
Drugstore “passport photo” menus sometimes print the wrong SKU — keep control with this online crop.
