Russia Passport from the UK: ignore GOV.UK sizes
Scope lock: this URL is for Russia Passport travel-document photos only — licence and national-ID copy live on their own pages.
Many people in the United Kingdom order a Russia Passport while renewing from abroad, booking a US consular appointment, or submitting an online US form. GOV.UK photo rules do not apply to that file — only Russia specifications on this page do.
This article is scoped to Russia Passport as a Russia travel / passport photo (35 × 45 mm, Light grey). Driving-licence and national-ID wording is not pasted here.
British applicants routinely paste a 35 × 45 mm HMPO-style portrait into a Russia form. That portrait is legal for a UK passport — and wrong for Russia Passport at 35 × 45 mm on Light grey.
Official framing for Russia Passport on FotoPass is 35 × 45 mm with a Light grey background. Treat any other country’s booth print as a different template.
Practical UK workflow: selfie in daylight near a window (avoid yellow tungsten alone), confirm Russia Passport, upload here, then attach the export to the Russia online tool or take it to your London / Belfast / Edinburgh consular packet — not a high-street “UK passport” booth ticket.
35 × 45 mm vs Russia Passport geometry
UK passport guidance is a tall rectangle. Russia Passport needs 35 × 45 mm (exact millimetres above). Phone “perspective” tools cannot invent the missing width legally.
If a UK chemist already printed 35 × 45 mm, leave that print for UK renewals. Generate a separate Russia Passport file on FotoPass for Russia passport filings.
Filing Russia Passport from England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland
Online Russia passport renewals accept digital photos when the crop matches Russia rules. Embassy / consulate appointments serving UK residents still expect the same 35 × 45 mm standard — bring the newest download, not last year’s holiday snap.
Compress for portal kilobyte caps only after FotoPass has set the biometric frame for Russia Passport.
Russia passport photo — what people search
This page is scoped to Russia Passport only: 35 × 45 mm on a Light grey background. Licence or national-ID crops belong on their own document pages.
Queries such as “Russia passport photo size” and “biometric passport photo” should land here — not on a driving-licence tool with a coincidentally similar millimetre size.
Russia passport note
Russian passport photo rules differ from Schengen visa prints; Russia Passport = 35 × 45 mm / Light grey.
UK → Russia passport photo gate
- Form asks for Russia Passport, not a UK passport photo
- Canvas is 35 × 45 mm, not 35 × 45 mm
- Backdrop is Light grey (not cream booth paper)
- No stretched HMPO JPEG
- Neutral expression; glasses policy checked against Russia passport rules
- Selector still shows Russia Passport while the site market is United Kingdom
Treat UK and Russia photo products as two different SKUs — this page only manufactures the Russia Passport passport one.
