France Passport from South Africa: travel-document crop only
Scope lock: this URL is for France Passport travel-document photos only — licence and national-ID copy live on their own pages.
Living in South Africa does not change the France photo standard for France Passport. Use this page when the application names France sizes, not a local ICA or Home Affairs crop.
This article is scoped to France Passport as a France travel / passport photo (35 × 45 mm, Light grey). Driving-licence and national-ID wording is not pasted here.
Cross-border passport work: your UI market is South Africa, but the photo law is France for France Passport. Local booth habits do not travel.
Official framing for France Passport on FotoPass is 35 × 45 mm with a Light grey background. Treat any other country’s booth print as a different template.
Home-market tip: South Africa passport photos are commonly about 35 × 45 mm. France Passport instead demands 35 × 45 mm — different aspect ratio, not a simple resize.
From South Africa: unfiltered selfie → lock France Passport → upload → use the export for France passport portals or embassy packets — never a recycled licence file.
Why South Africa booth prints fail France passport checks
A 35 × 45 mm South Africa print is not a legal 35 × 45 mm passport crop. Phone edge-trims break head ratios that border systems measure.
Cream or grey South Africa studio paper can also fail when France Passport requires Light grey.
Embassy / online passport filing from South Africa
Submit the newest France Passport export — not last year’s holiday portrait — whether you file online or attend a France mission serving South Africa.
Compress for portal KB limits only after the biometric passport crop is set.
Do not switch away from France Passport
Market chrome may say South Africa, but the selector must stay on this passport product. Changing to a local licence silently changes millimetres.
France passport photo — what people search
This page is scoped to France Passport only: 35 × 45 mm on a Light grey background. Licence or national-ID crops belong on their own document pages.
Queries such as “France passport photo size” and “biometric passport photo” should land here — not on a driving-licence tool with a coincidentally similar millimetre size.
France passport note
ANTS / France e-photo rules usually expect 35 × 45 mm. France Passport uses 35 × 45 mm / Light grey.
