PAN Card Photo Size: 25×35 mm Guide (2026)
Form 49A / PAN photos are usually **25×35 mm** colour on white — do not mix with stamp size (2×2.5 cm) or passport 35×45.
What size is a PAN photo?
NSDL / UTIITSL Form 49A-style PAN applications usually list a colour photo at 25 mm × 35 mm (2.5 × 3.5 cm), white background, face forward. Digital channels may add pixel / KB limits — read your form line.
Use our AI-powered India ID / Licence Photo Tool to auto-crop your image in 3 seconds.
Face centred, neutral expression; heavy makeup and filters are risky.

PAN ≠ stamp size ≠ passport
Stamp size is often 2.0 × 2.5 cm. Indian passport digital is 630×810; print usually 35×45 mm. PAN 25×35 mm is a different rectangle.
If you need several documents the same week, export a separate crop for each.

Prepare at home
Front selfie in daylight on a plain light wall. Beauty / Portrait off. Prefer matte prints; cut true to millimetres.
Soft WhatsApp copies look muddy at PAN scale — export from the original.
FotoPass tip
Select the India ID / matching document and crop with the FotoPass tool. If your form still says “stamp size,” use our stamp guide — do not mix sizes.
If the portal wants a soft copy, compress the JPEG to the KB line on the form.
