Mexico Passport Photo Requirements 35×45 mm (2026)
Mexican passports use **35×45 mm**, white / light background, ICAO face ratio. Do not force a US **2×2** square into the SRE slot.
Official size
Mexican passport (SRE) photos are typically 35 × 45 mm rectangles. The FotoPass mexico-passport-photo product crops to that size: light grey / white background, face forward, neutral expression, mouth closed.
Use our AI-powered Mexico Passport Photo Tool to auto-crop your image in 3 seconds.
Many checklists want several identical prints (often three). The photo should match recent weeks — read the recency line on the appointment PDF.

Mexico ≠ US 2×2 ≠ Schengen
US passport / DS-160 is a 2×2 inch square. Schengen / most EU use 35×45 — Mexico is also in the 35×45 family, but SRE print counts and glasses rules are often stricter than US retail.
At a consulate / overseas office, do not accept a default “US passport photo” template.

Common refusal reasons
Smiling, shadowed wall, beauty filter, glasses glare, stretching a US square, low resolution, outdated selfie.
Glasses are banned on most SRE lists — remove them when in doubt.
